Why have I been charged for an overdue laptop when I returned it on time?

Answer

When you return a laptop to the safe you must plug / reconnect the power lead to the laptop, otherwise the laptop will still be issued to your account and will be accruing charges of £1 per hour or part hour, since it will not be available for others to use.
