If you see this 'restricted' message when you attempt login with your university details to access an online resource, it indicates a permission error. The following are the most common scenarios where this error message appears:
1) You are trying to gain access to something that the University does not subscribe to.
What you can do: Search Locate to confirm whether there is full-text access through any of our providers. If material you require is not available on Locate, the Document Supply Service may be able to help you get it.
2) You are a student/ staff at a partner institution trying to access an eresource via Locate.
What you can do: Our partners have access to a subset of CU eresources only and arrive at these by a specific route (Locate does not recognise partner logins). Go to the partner Library guide to find links to the databases available to partners.
3) You are a ‘non-payroll’ member of staff (e.g. HPL, researcher, visiting/honorary position).
What you can do: Non-payroll staff need to request full access to electronic resources. Complete the ‘Non-payroll CU staff application for access to eresources' form.
4) You are trying to access a site or service that isn't set up for institutional login - e.g. ORCID, e-LFH (e-Learning for Healthcare).
What you can do: Register a personal account and then use the general sign in option rather than sign in via institution.
