In brief, the Coventry University Research Data Management and Sharing Standard states:

• All projects should produce and adhere to Data Management Plan. 
• Research data will be managed to the highest standards throughout the research data lifecycle.
• Responsibility for Research Data Management sits with the Principle Investigator.
• Keep clear and accurate records of the research procedures followed and the results obtained.
• Data should always be made available unless there are ethical or legal reasons why they cannot be shared.
• Data should be deposited/ shared where appropriate.
