Why can't I access the article I need in Locate?

Answer

If you are experiencing trouble in accessing full-text, you need to check the following:

1) If you have found the item you want but can’t get the full-text:

  • Make sure you are logged in to view the eresource. Look for a login link usually in the top right of any page. You may need to login to view it, even if you have already signed in to your Library account via Locate.
  • Double check that our access covers the year/volume that you want if it's a journal article. Sometimes we might not have electronic access to every year.
  • If it looks like we should have access and there might be a technical issue then let eresources.lib@coventry.ac.uk know and they will check to see if there is a technical issue with the provider.

2) If you know what you want but you can’t seem to find it take a look at our guide on Finding Resources which will help you with searching.

3) You are pretty sure the Library does not have it but you still need it. Check out our Can’t find what you need page which will tell you how we might be able to get this for you in a variety of different ways through document supply, open access or purchase.
